Histopathology of the spinal cord of sham-immunized and MOG-immunized animals. Inflammation (ED1) as well as demyelination start in the lumbar part of the spinal cord and propagates toward the cervical area. There are no histopathological changes detectable in the preclinical phase of EAE. Circles represent values for one individual animal
