Extensive Slc16a14 mRNA expression in mouse brain. ISH with a digoxigenin-labeled riboprobe against Slc16a14 mRNA was used to map the expression in mouse brain through hybridization with free-floating, 70-µm coronal sections. Widespread expression was seen in various parts of the mouse brain, including the: A granular, molecular and polymorph layers of the dentate gyrus (GrDG, Mol and PoDG respectively), CA1–3 fields and pyramidal cells of the hippocampus, B piriform cortex (Pir), accessory basal amygdaloid nucleus (BMA) and posterolateral cortical amygdaloid nucleus, C arcuate nucleus (Arc) and ventromedial and dorsomedial hypothalamic nuclei (VMH and DM respectively). All scale bars represent 200 µm. Bregma coordinates (upper left corner of each image) and abbreviations were determined according to Franklin and Paxinos [57]
