In the hippocampus, muskelin transcripts display highest concentration in cell bodies of pyramidal cells in CA1 and CA3 regions, as well as in cell bodies of dentate gyrus granule cells. In the cerebellum, muskelin transcripts are mainly found in cell bodies of granule and Purkinje cells.
