ChAT+ cells plotted in single sections (of triple-immunostained series, Fig. 1A) through the middle level of the MCPO (~A8.2) from representative brains of SC (A), SD (B) and SR (C) groups. Presumed to reflect a threshold for immunohistochemical detection, GABAAR labeling was judged to be negative (open circles) or positive (filled circles) in each ChAT+ cell within the section. Note the ChAT+/GABAAR+ cells are most prevalent in the SD brain.
