Locomotor activity in a novel environment. AcbC-lesioned rats were hyperactive compared to sham-operated controls, being slower to habituate to a novel environment. Analysis using the model lesion2 × (bin12 × S) revealed a lesion × bin interaction (F8.3,133.4 = 2.20, = .758, # p = .029), reflecting a difference in habituation between the groups, and a main effect of bin (F8.34,133.4 = 9.02, p < .001), reflecting habituation, though there was no main effect of lesion (F1,16 = 2.24, p = .154).
