Preservation of cell body, nuclear and nucleolar volume relationships in extracted spinal motor neurons. Nuclear volume in individual cell bodies isolated from unfixed lumbar spinal cords of normal adult frogs scales with cell body volume (top) and nucleolar volume (bottom) before and after extraction. Significant (p < 0.01) correlation coefficients were found in first-order regression analyses for both unextracted (solid line) and extracted cells (dashed line).
