The infarct volume in rats exposed to ischemia–reperfusion injury by MCAO receiving different doses of E2. (A) The OVX group resulted in larger infarct volume compared to the control group. 6 μg/kg and 20 μg/kg E2 replacement significantly decreased the infarct volume. 50 μg/kg E2 replacement group resulted in larger infarct volume than the control group and 6 μg/kg or 20 μg/kg E2 replacement group.
