Hence the pattern is opposite to the one shown in Figure 2A, because loss refers to a gain in the observer and vice-versa. B. Note the inversion of the effects on the scalp (in this condition loss minus gain in the performer corresponds to gain minus loss in the observer) and the difference in the scales in the two condition (maximum condition: - 1.5 to 1.5 μV; minimum condition: -0.8 to 0.8 μV).
