Delayed degeneration of spiral ganglion cells in the cochleae of the WT (A1–5) and MITF-M mutation pigs (B1–5) at E65, E100, P1, P30 and P60, respectively. The spiral ganglion cells began to decrease apparently at P30 (B4) with other changes including swollen cells, shrunken nuclei and increased intercellular gaps.
