Effect of resiniferatoxin (RTX) pretreatment on transient receptor potential mellastatin type 8 (TRPM8) expression. Perineural administration with vehicle or RTX (0 or 1 µg) was performed before spinal nerve ligation (SNL). To evaluate the protein expression level of TRPM8 located in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG), the left L5 and L6 DRG were isolated 4 weeks after SNL. Western blot analysis was performed using 40 μg of total protein extracted from the isolated DRG (a). The specific signal for TRPM8 was quantified and plotted (b). β-actin was used as an internal loading control. **P < 0.01 compared to the control (sham) group. ††P < 0.01 compared to the SNL group
