  1. After 72 h of control (n = 10) or high fat diet (n = 10), animals were fasted for 2 h before sacrifice. At the time of sacrifice, trunk blood was used to measure blood glucose. Blood was allowed to clot for collection of serum. Serum insulin and leptin were measured via ELISA and total serum cholesterol was measured chemically. Statistics were performed using t test. A p value of p < 0.05 is denoted by * and a p value of p < 0.01 is denoted by **.
