Figure 4

Effects of NGEN and other K +current blockers on the amplitude of I K(M) in NSC-34 cells. In these experiments, cells were bathed in Ca2+-free Tyrode's solution which contained 200 nM iberiotoxin, 200 nM apamin and 1 μM tetrodotoxin, and each cell was hyperpolarized from -20 to -50 mV with a duration of 2 sec. Current amplitude was measured at the end of voltage pulse. Each bar represents the mean ± SEM (n = 7-13). Flu: flupirtine; Iber: iberiotoxin; Aps: apamin; Lino: linopirdine. *Significantly different from control. **Significantly different from NGEN (10 μM) alone group. Notably, further application of linopirdine reversed NGEN-stimulated I K(M), while neither iberiotoxin nor apamin produced any effects on it.
