Note that the infarct size is considerably reduced in MCAO rat brains treated with drugs E, SH and especially with E + SH (C-E) in comparison to MCAO (B). Additionally, the number of lectin+ activated microglia is noticeably reduced in MCAO rat brains treated with drugs E, S and E + S as seen in high magnification confocal images (H-J and M-O) in comparison to MCAO (G, L).
