Microphotograph E shows at high magnification a PDH immunoreactive neuron (a typical pyramidal neuron of cortical layer V, blue, ◆) of layer V and a LDH-5 immunoreactive astrocyte (protoplasmic astrocyte, brown, *) in layer IV close to the dendrite of the pyramidal neuron.
