Mice from the N2 backcross and F2 populations were genotyped at position 23.0 on chromosome 7, near the location of the Bax allele. Each group of points represents individual animals carrying either a contributing allele from a BALB/cByJ parent (B) or a DBA/2J parent (D2). ANOVA analysis indicated no significant association between the resistance phenotype and the segregation of the Bax allele, excluding this gene as the principal contributor of this phenotype.
