Graphical representation of the percent number of labeled vomeronasal neurons above control levels for animals exposed to whole pheromone (data from Wirsig-Wiechmann et al., 2002), or to the protein components PRF and PMF.Control levels of labeling are set at 100% (grey portion of the cylinder) and pheromone stimulation levels (illustrated as the black portion of the cylinder) include the control level. The percentage of cells labeled with the combined stimulation of PRF & PMF is shown as the stacking of the individual cylinders for PRF and PMF, and illustrates the proximity of percent labeling compared to that of the whole pheromone.
