Effect of MK-801 on glutamate-induced cell death. Cell viability was determined in the same cells used for experiments described in Figure 7 and is expressed as percent of control. Cells were pretreated for 15 minutes with various concentrations of MK-801 (0.001 to 10 μM) and then treated for 20 minutes with 200 μM glutamate. a. p < 0.05 compared to glutamate alone. Each bar represents a mean of 8 replicates. Error bars represent SEM.
