Individual absorbance images were generated by subtracting each prestimulus (reference) image from its corresponding poststimulus image and subsequently dividing by the reference image. Averages are generated by summating the data obtained at a particular frame across trials (in this case, at 5 sec after stimulus onset). Stimulus sites are indicated by figurines. Scale bar is 2 mm. Orientation of images indicated by P (posterior), A (anterior), M (medial) and L (lateral) axes. Components of this figure have been previously reported [4].
