Rats were subjected to a 15 min swim stress session and sacrificed at various times after swim termination. Top, time-course of the falloff in P-MEK1/2 and P-MKK4 phosphorylation in hippocampus (HIPP) and neocortex (NCx); bottom, time-course for P-Erk2 and P-JNK (all 3 isomers quantitated together). Shown are means of duplicate samples from a representative experiment that was repeated with similar results.
