Inflammation in the spinal cord of mice with EAE: effect of previous infection with S. aureus . C57BL/6 mice were infected with S. aureus TSST-1+ and TOX-, and 3 days later, they were subjected to EAE induction. The lumbar spinal cord inflammatory infiltrates in mice with EAE (a, b), mice previously infected with S. aureus TSST-1 strain subjected to EAE (c, d) and mice previously infected with S. aureus TOX- strain subjected to EAE (e, f) were evaluated 30 days after disease induction.
