Time-lapse imaging of membrane protrusions of fGFP-positive cells in shiverer cultures. Time-lapse imaging was performed on 21 DIV for a period of 24 hours with 3 min time-interval. A and B) fGFP-labelled neurospheres appeared to have been differentiated into astrocyte-like cells (arrow) with processes aligned with the shiverer axons (broken arrows). Ai-vi) Time-lapse sequence of the magnified area (box) revealed the generation of membrane protrusions (arrows) which changed shape and appeared to be eventually deposited on the axonal surface.
