Network images of FTO and candidates genes. Coxpresdb (a) extracts expression data from affymetrix gene-chip arrays (human genome u133 plus 2.0 array and mouse genome 430 2.0 array) run on 3749 human and 2226 mouse samples [26]. The FunCoup database (b) integrates heterogenous data from 51 unique datasets, containing information on mRNA co-expression, protein-protein interaction, sub-cellular location etc., and uses Bayesian statistics to generate a probabilistic score for functional coupling between genes [25].
