Illustration of the roving standard stimulation used in this study. The stimulus sequence consisted of repeatedly changing trains of K, T and #-items (indicated by characters) of a variable number (3 to 8 repetitions) of identical items. Every first item of a train served as disconfirming item (large black) and the respectively third item served as confirming item (small black).
