Pantethine treatment rescues nigro-striatal dopaminergic injury. (A), histological analysis of TH+ striatal fibers and TH+ SNpc neurons in control and 2'-methyl-MPTP-injected mice, treated with pantethine or saline. Mice were sacrificed 7 days after the last injection of the neurotoxin. Pantethine treatment restored TH+ striatal fibers and TH+ SNpc neuron count to almost the control level. Error bars represent mean ± SD; n = 4 mice per group. Significant difference between the saline and pantethine-treated groups, **p < 0.01.
